The CJ Build – Finished

Finished Product! (yeah right)

Well, after I finished the buildup… I knew I still had work to do to get it to the basic state that I was looking for when I had the finished jeep in my minds eye… I had to get a hardtop and get the hard doors fixed and put all new hardware on them too. So, after locating a hardtop on ebay and painting it…getting a new rear liftgate and painting that and putting it on… then I took a few weeks putting together parts to get the hard doors ready to go, and did some restoration work on the doors and primed them and sanded them down like the rest of the jeep… took them and had them painted and then finally got them on in November 2004….here’s what it looked like in January of 2005.

I’m sure I’ll be adding more to the story as I remember things, but hopefully you enjoyed checking out my jeep buildup and maybe I shared something that will help you in your buildup! Either way, thanks for sticking around long enough to go through all of this!   Now if you’re interested, you may want to check out the newest developments…I’m putting a 5.3L Chevy Vortec V8 and 4L60e transmission from a 2001 Suburban 1500 in my Jeep… I want power, and better fuel economy, oh, and power! 🙂  Check out that project at the “5.3L Motor Swap” link above, or just Click Here!
